FANNY'S FIRST PLAY

Join the fun as we present the first Staged Reading in Our New Series:
GOING ON THE STAGE!

Come see Shaw critique the critics! In Shaw’s only play within a play, Count O’Dowda hires an acting company to present his daughter Fanny’s play (the piece itself ) and invites the prominent theatre critics to come and witness the performance. The age old problem of how one generation deals with the next is an ever recurring theme which still resonates today, while Shaw’s humor about the theater and critics provides comic fun.

In our search for a new home, we’ll be trying out the lovely Payan Theater on West 43rd St., just off 8th Ave. A black box theater with excellent lighting, The Payan has comfortable seating on risers (excellent sight lines), elevators and air conditioning!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! The Shaw Project is wholly dependent on your generosity to keep our series of play readings going. Every little bit helps us with increasingly expensive rehearsal space, scripts, postage and other necessary materials. We are also looking for a suitable theatre space with more comfortable seating and better sight lines. If you enjoy our readings of unique, often unseen plays, please consider making a donation.
The Shaw Project is a qualified, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is deductible to the full extent of the law.
Please make all checks payable to The Shaw Project.
